MSI Gaming Wallpaper

Wow. I feel so blessed to have even found/followed MSI for awhile now, all from making my first terrible MSI wallpaper, to making one for a contest and now it's the #1 viewed on Google. If you don't know much from my journal, I recently won a brand spanking new laptop from MSI in one of their contests. The first thought in my head after I calmed down and stopped shaking was that I would love to break in the new laptop with a new wallpaper. Since I haven't done a lot of artwork lately because of school and work (and breaking in the new flippin' awesome laptop!) I figured I should make something really good/professional.

One thing was for certain: MSI's current logo doesn't represent gaming as much as it does a chic product, or at least that's how it seems to me. Therefore, I decided to make my own gaming logo for MSI. Adding the tagline was more filler as "Innovation with Style" didn't seem to fit this image, nor did my original tagline, "Discover your bright side." Expecting to win with an MSI G-series is pretty evident when you turn it on. This logo is also very reminiscent of the original logo, keeping the lower case 'i' for this reason. Lots of sketches were involved in the process, though, finding the right angles that wouldn't detract from another letter, but not underwhelm the piece in general, either. It needed something a bit more... game-y.

Anywho, I'm really proud of this one as I got to make a style I really enjoy as well as try some effects that I hadn't been able to until now. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it!
